Cultural Stories: Lecture by the French philosopher Jacques Rancièr
“Time, Narration, Politics”
On 6 May 2014, the Institute of Social and Humanities, the EU InfoCentre and the French Institute organized a lecture of Mr. Jacques Ranciere, world renowned philosopher “Time, Narration, Politics”
The lecture is held as part of the "School of Critique and Politics," supported by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
Ranciere is one of the most famous French and international contemporary philosopher. In recent years he is involved in human rights and in international movements for protection of human rights.
He is considered as one of the main figures for the contemporary theory of visual art.
He covers the political discourse such as the ideology and the proletariat. One of his most influential works is „Le Maître ignorant : Cinq leçons sur l'émancipation intellectuelle“, which deals with issues such as knowledge and education.
