Мarking of the 25th Anniversary of the death of Salvador Dalí

 

2014 marks the 25th anniversary of Salvador Dalí’s death and the EU Delegation in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain, Osten Gallery, Centre Municipality and the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje will organise several activities from 7 to 27 May in order to celebrate this anniversary and pay tribute to one of the Europe’s most famous visual artists.

The series of activities marking the 25th anniversary of Salvador Dalí’s death will encompass:

Lecture on Salvador Dalí, by Silvia Monrós-Stojaković Screening of the film “Un perro Andaluz” Exhibition of Dalí’s posters

7 May, Wednesday 20:20 – 22:00 OSTEN Skopje

Opening of Exhibition Graphics and sculptures by Salvador Dalí (from the collection of OSTEN)

Exhibition will be opened 7 – 27 May and starting from 12 May will also include students’ works inspired by Salvador Dalí, by students from the Department of Painting, class of Professor Antoni Maznevski, Faculty of Fine Arts, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University

 Silvia Monros – Stojaković is an author, poet and translator. She has translated more than 70 works from Spanish into Serbian language, and a number of works from Serbian into Spanish language including the works of Ivo Andric, Milorad Pavic, Dusan Kovacevic etc. She also translates from Catalonian, French and Portuguese. She wrote several books, among which are the epistolary novel “The last Cortázar’s Hopscotch” and the monograph on Salvador Dalí – “We, Salvador Dalí” that will be published soon.

Starting from 12 May, the exhibition Graphics and sculptures by Salvador Dalí will also include 16 works, paintings, acryl on cardboard, inspired by Salvador Dalí, produced within the Tribute to Dalí workshop on 9 May at Jadran Square, by students from the Department of Painting, class of Professor Antoni Maznevski, Faculty of Fine Arts, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University The workshop Tribute to Dalí will be part of the Europe Day Happening that will take place on Jadran Square, on 9 May 2014.

Students from the Department of Painting, class of Professor Antoni Maznevski, at the Faculty of Fine Arts, will make drawings inspired by Salvador Dalí. They are expected to make their creations during the happening, drawing on easels placed on the square.

Starting from Monday, 12 May, the expected 16 students’ works will adjoin the Dalí’s exhibition at Osten Gallery.
