Cultural stories: "Caravan of Debates - The Pulse of Society"
Starting from 21 May, a series of events named "Caravan of Debates - The Pulse of Society" will be held around the country. The Caravan of Debates is a platform for creating an open, inclusive, democratic and creative society through interactive models of cultural production and debates.
The moderator of the debates is the author of the project Ana Jovkovska - media expert, journalist and TV producer who has made over 1000 interviews through her 20 years of continuous involvement in the media and in various television projects.
The first of the debates took place on 21 May at the EU InfoCentre in Skopje. The guests at the debate were Professor Aleksandar PROKOPIEV, writer; Professor Ana MARTINOVSKA, columnist and Aleksandar POPOVSKI, theatre and film director.
On 28 May the caravan moved to the theatre “J.H. Xhinot” in Veles where the audience had the opportunity to talk with Professor Vladimir MARTINOVSKI, poet, Professor Sinolicka TRPKOVA, actress and activist, and Vasil ZAFIRCEV, actor.
Professor Artan SADIKU, activist, Isra GESHOVSKA, cultural theorist and Visar VISHKA, actor, were guests of the Caravan on 30 May at the Centre for Balkan cooperation in Tetovo.
The project goal is to create space for a critical reflection of the society and to increase the public awareness of important social and cultural issues, by promoting dialogue, cultural representation and social inclusion.
"The Pulse of Society" is a concept which besides the "Caravan of Debates" includes a Book of Interviews/Monograph that represents a selection of the best interviews conducted by the journalist and author Ana Jovkovska, realized over a ten-year work period within the frame of her TV project “Puls".
